REASONS TO ADOPT AN ITSM STRATEGY

In an Audio Teleconference, sponsored by Gartner on July 1, 2004, Gartner noted that “ITIL is being adopted in ever larger numbers of IT organizations as a framework for IT Service Management process definition and structure.”  As a result, IT Service Management (ITSM) is becoming more prominent as a critical strategy for improving an IT organization and keeping it aligned with the business. Gartner goes on to say that , “IT service management will be a prerequisite for demonstrating business value.”

With these ideas in mind, the following list of ways that ITSM can save money for an organizaton also helps to illustrate the importance of ITSM.
